Diana Matthews designed this throw that has a stockinette center surrounded by a cable and lace border. The stockinette center knits up fast and stitches are picked up for the border.30″ x 30″ using worsted weight yarn but adapts to other weights.
Garden Fantasy Afghan
Lion Brand’s fantasy throw is created with triangles and blocks of knitting sewn together. The Counterpane blocks use bobbles, cables and lace to create a beautiful texture. The other blocks are knit in stockinette with leaves, vines, and flowers worked separately and sewn on to stockinette blocks.
Lion Brand’s afghan is made of 12 blocks of cable sewn together. Knit with two strands held together. About 54 x 72 in. (137 x 183 cm)
