For the Birds
Round knit bird house for the feathered friends in your yard. You can also use as a decorative piece in your house. Some knitters have stuffed with suet as a bird feeder. Shaped with a balloon (though some knitters just stuffed with plastic bags) and felted. Many knitters modified by reducing the door size with an i-cord or crocheted border. These finger sweaters can protect your fingers for those garden tasks that don't need full gloves, like cutting flowers, deadheading, grabbing a stray weed. Also my fingers are very sensitive to cold so having these would protect me when I have to handle chilled items. They'd also be great for some crafting tasks, protecting nails or healing fingers, or adding fingers to fingerless mitts. Perfect stash buster for leftover sock yarn. Phil’s Knee Warmers
I spend a lot of time kneeling on cold hard ground or sidewalks when I garden which is really hard on my knees. These were originally designed to help people who've had knee surgery keep their knees warm. I think they'd be great for cushioning and warming knees while we garden too. Uses about 1 skein 120 - 150 yards (110 - 137 m) of Worsted weight yarn. Designed by Sarah Peasley.

This also is a fun way to keep comfortable while gardening or picnicking outside. Sitting pillow knit in a 2 color, 4 row repeat shaker rib that gives a tweed look. Size Approx 24" [61 cm] square x 4" [10 cm] thick. Designed by Yarnspirations Design Studio. Worsted weight yarn.
