Mary Jane Protus designed this blanket that alternates sections of garter stitch with crossed stitch. Red Heart lists this as Intermediate but knitters on Ravelry rated it easy. Baby Fibonacci Baby Blanket
Colorful striped baby blanket knit diagonally using a combination of garter and slip stitches. Intersecting Fibonacci sequence, one color decreases from 55 while the other color increases to 55. To make it interesting use a variegated yarn for one of the colors. (A Fibonacci sequence is "a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. This easy and quick striped circular blanket is knit to resemble ripples in a pool. The basic 6-row pattern consists of 1 row of increasing/decreasing then 5 rows of plain knitting. Knit in garter stitch with a picot edge and decorated with 3 knit starfish. The designer says it can be knit in 10 hours which makes it a perfect quick baby shower gift.
