Star Trek 60th Anniversary Sept 8
USS Enterprise
I was watching that September 8 in 1966 when the first episode of Star Trek: The Original Series first aired, never guessing that the show would become such a cultural phenomenon that we would celebrate the anniversary of that day decades later. Jule Vintersju designed a knit version of the legendary ship. The final measurements are 26x10x9cm or 11x4x3,5 inches in DK yarn. Pictured project is by heatherhahn

World Dolphin Day was created to promote dolphin welfare. Dolphin softie toy or cushion knit flat in garter stitch and joined as you go to minimize seams. Size 25 inches long in super chunky weight yarn but you can knit with lighter weight yarns for a smaller size. Designed by Claire Garland.

World Dolphin Day on September 22 was created to promote dolphin welfare. This dolphin’s name is Sifiso, meaning ‘Hope’ in the Zulu language, and the hope is for a safer environment for dolphins. His body is knitted in 1 piece and the flippers and fin are knitted separately and sewn on. 7 inches from snout to end of tail, 4 inches tall.
