National Rose Month
June, peak blooming season of roses, was first celebrated as Rose Month in 1959 and the rose was declared the national floral emblem in 1986. Rose Blanket is a knit version of that crochet rose blanket you may have seen in videos. This circular blanket with knit roses on the border can be folded up to look like a bouquet of roses or placed in a basket. DK weight yarn. Designed by Cate Brassington.

National Lemon Month

June 1 World Outlander Day
Outlander Day marks the anniversary of the first Outlander book’s release in 1991. I'm guessing this date honors the first public demonstration of a hot air balloon by the Montgolfier brothers on June 4, 1783. June 17 World Tessellation Day
Happy Birthday to M. C. Escher born on June 17, 1898. Also commemorated as World Tessellation Day in honor of Escher's iconic tiling and morphing art. Sky and Water chart is inspired by M. C. Escher’s woodcut Sky and Water I of fish morphing into birds. Although this is chart, not a full pattern, the pictured project has notes about how the knitter created a sweater.
