I confess that it was the purple and blue color combination that first drew me to this modern updating of traditional slippers knit flat with ribbed toe and striped garter stitch heel. Suitable for beginning knitters according to designer. There's also a second pattern on the page for traditional colorwork slippers. Worsted weight yarn. Marsh Felted Slippers
I love the way this top down flat knit slipper is perfect for self-striping yarn making a quick colorful bootie. I think it would also be a great first felting project because the slipper construction is easy and simple, though felting instrucitons aren't included. Worsted weight yarn. I love that these slippers look like shoes with their shaping created by horizontal folds. After knitting, the slippers are felted in the washing machine to shrink to the needed size.
