On July 1st, Canadians celebrate on the anniversary of the Constitution Act of 1867. July 9 Pop Art Starts
Marilyn Monroe Illusion
Pop Start! On July 9, 1962, Andy Warhol debuted his Campbell’s Soup Cans paintings, helping to launch the Pop Art Movement. This wall-hanging or cushion was inspired by Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe silkscreen prints. The illusion is created by knitting ridges of different colors so when you look at the piece from the front you see 4 "solid" color blocks but when you view from the side, the picture is revealed. Includes a cushion version, 40 cm (16”) square in DK yarn, and a wall-hanging 80 cm (32”) square. Any weight yarn. Designed by Steve Plummer.
